Why lil omm?
As a yoga teacher and student I found myself feeling a bit disconnected when I was pregnant with my daughter, Saylor. I went to all the yoga studios prenatal classes (and loved them all) but found myself wanting a deeper connection with other moms in the classes.
After Saylor was born, I longed for a home where I could practice yoga with my daughter regularly and a place where Saylor was welcome to cry or nurse if she needed. I wanted an outlet to my long and sometimes rollercoaster-like days and I wanted to find a place with more prenatal/postnatal classes on the schedule, as well as a place to learn about breastfeeding, holistic parenting, spirituality and parenting..
I went everywhere. I tried every mom and baby class, playgroup (I joined 4 at one time), free events, and session based enrichment classes. After driving from location to location.. I realized we needed a home to host and offer all of these classes under one roof. Lil Omm is this dream home, a place I talked about wanting to go to and teach yoga at that I wasn’t able to find. So with lots of love from friends and family and support from the community, we built it.
At the heart of lil omm is the yoga, which connects, stabilizes and grounds us. The additional classes, workshops and supports are things that our teachers and moms are interested in and classes WE ALL WISH that we had the first time around...so enjoy, and welcome to lil omm.
