The Yoga Teacher Mastermind is a support and discussion group for yoga teachers who are passionate about personal growth and development, making meaning of current topics related to yoga, and those who seek connection & community from other professionals.
As a yoga teacher for over 10 years, I have studied and practiced in a variety of lineages and yoga schools. There have been times, when I have felt lonely and craved a professional connection while contemplating modern life and ancient wisdom teachings. After all, how do you balance a classical spiritual philosophy and system for enlightenment with inbox zero and getting the kids to school on time?
At lil omm yoga, I have created book groups, teacher practices and discussions around relevant topics. I find meaning, value and insights at these offerings ( especially in the current yoga / mindfulness climate) and feel excited about creating a regular group where we can open up & explore these topics.
This career path is a very interesting and sometimes challenging intersection of spirituality, financial freedom, coaching, confidence, creativity, service, and modern city life.
I voraciously read on these topics, go to seminars, and attend workshops and intensives with a variety of teachers. I have a deep passion for sharing best practices with others, in order to live a more purposeful, joyful life.
In each session we will dive into the deep and meaningful questions that appear in our lives while contemplating our roles in the bigger context of teaching yoga. There will be suggested reading & videos and you will get out of this what you put into the group. We will create a FB support page as well- where we can communicate privately with one another as needed.
In person meeting on the following Tuesday mornings from 10:30-11:45am (1/12, 1/26, 2/9, 3/1, 3/8, 3/22).
On alternate Tuesdays, we hold optional “Office Hours” for those looking to deepen practices a bit more or want to do some one-on-one. At these office hours, you will have a chance to sign up for one -on- one sessions in person or on skype, attend classes together, work on teaching a skill, or engage in a teacher/group practice. We will schedule and plan our optional Tuesday logistics as the needs of the group unfold. There are no additional costs for these sessions and will be optional.
Topics may include: avoiding teacher burnout, finding a lifetime of inspirations, going with the flow of teaching, balancing and creating family life while developing a spiritual practice, living our yoga, incorporating new learning into your teaching, knowing how and when to pursue further training/ study, creating schedules and financial plans that work and are sustainable, diving into what you need at this time.
Text/Materials: We will use the book Teaching People, Not Poses to support our discussions. Optional other texts, articles, and resources will be added during the course. Please note, materials are not included in the cost of the course.
What is a mastermind?
Mastermind groups offer a combination of brainstorming, education, peer accountability and support in a group setting to sharpen your business and personal skills. You do not have to be a RYT200 to participate.
The group requires commitment, confidentiality, willingness to both give and receive advice and ideas, and support each other with total honesty, respect and compassion. Mastermind group members act as catalysts for growth, devil’s advocates and supportive colleagues.
For an application, e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
The mentoring group will be limited to 8 participants. Registration is required by Dec. 15, so we encourage you to apply soon to secure your spot. There is NO obligation to sign up if you apply, it's just a chance for us to connect and see if it's a good fit.
Cost: $500/person. Monthly $150/auto-pay option is available.
